PRELIMINARY
- The Intra Moot court competition which is the brain child of Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Dean, Faculty of Law to instill and train First year Students into the skill of mooting and develop a culture of mooting in the university, with an aim to further train them, so as they can represent Faculty of Law, SRMUH in National and International Moot court competition. The Moot court event was a three-day event creating complete environment of mooting. It was organized on 9th, 16th & 24th April, 2024 although the preparations for the competition by the Moot Court Committee was not limited to these three days only. The committee has organized a 2-day workshop before the event on 5th & 6th March,2024
DAY 1: Preliminary Rounds 9th April 2024 (1:00 to 4:00pm)
- The Moot Court Competition began with Judges briefing at 1:00 PM wherein the Judges for the competition which was in a unique manner a mix of Faculty judges and Student Judge from the Senior Batch were briefed with the moot problem and queries pertaining to the moot problem were also clarified subsequently. The briefing was conducted by Sarthak and Ruhani.
- The preliminary rounds began at 1:30 PM. The judges were escorted to respective courtrooms and the rounds thereupon started. There were 15 courtrooms with total of 30 teams arguing their case simultaneously. Each team argued their case from both the side, i.e., Appellant and Respondent. Their fixtures were made using a C++ algorithm free from Human intervention. As per the Rulebook of the Neophyte Moot Court Competition, the Top 8 teams were to qualify the Preliminary Rounds.
DAY 2: Quarter Finals 16th April 2024 (3:00 – 4:30pm)
- The results for the preliminary rounds were announced and subsequently 8 teams qualified for this round. Namely, TC 3, TC 6, TC 8, TC 1, TC 14, TC 18, TC 20 & TC 21. Subsequently the draw of lots was conducted between these teams & their sides were decided as fixture was made according to method of highest scoring team vs the lowest scoring team on 15th of April, 2024.
- The judges briefing for the round took place at 3:00 pm thereafter the teams then ventured into their respective court halls and the judges to this round were faculty members only. The bench was a division bench. This round was conducted in 4 court halls simultaneously, where the teams presented their case. The marks were limited to their oral Submissions only. As per the Rulebook, 4 teams scoring in aggregate were to qualify for the Semifinals.
DAY 3: Semi Final 24th April, 2024 (12:30pm – 2:00pm) The four teams qualifying for the Semifinal rounds based on their aggregate score were TC 3, TC 1, TC 14 & TC 20. The Semifinals were conducted in the designated Court Room no. 1 and 2. The judges for these rounds comprised of one Faculty Member and Another Guest from the outside. This was a Knock out round and only two teams out of the four qualified for the Finals.
DAY 3: Final Round 24th April 2024 (2:30pm-4:00pm)
- The teams that qualified for the final rounds were TC 1 and TC 20. This round was conducted in the Moot Court Hall of the faculty of Law, SRMUH. The round had three judges. And the fixtures to this round was decided on basis of draw of lots. TC 1 argued from the side of the Appellant whereas TC 20 argued from the side of Respondent.
VALEDICTORY CEREMONY (4:00- 4:30pm)
- After the conclusion of the final rounds the marks were calculated and in furtherance of that an award ceremony was organized.
- The ceremony began with moot report presentation by the co-convenor of MCC Ruhani.
- The chief Guest for the ceremony was Prof. Dr. Paramjeet Singh Jaiswal, Vice Chancellor SRM University, Sonipat who enchanted us with his demanor and an wonderful address. He also highlighted the importance of values and discipline in the legal field. The Event also saw attendance of other dignitaries like Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, Dean, Faculty of Law, SRMUH & Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kulshrestha, HOD, Faculty of Law.
- Finally, the moment of great enthusiasm came and the results were announced. Accordingly-

Lastly, the event ended with vote of thanks by the Sarthak convenor of the Moot Court Committee, Faculty of Law, SRMUH and a wonderful photo session.
